NARROWSBURG, NY — An exhibit of paintings by Doug Craft opens with a reception on Friday, May 18 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Alliance Gallery at the Delaware Arts Center. The exhibit will be on view through June 9.

Artist and professor Alan Williams, who met Craft in England, said, “Douglas is one of those true artists who does not follow fashion. His work is true and honest. The paintings have an intrinsic poetry and one never ceases to see new levels of revelation in the one work.”

Works by Craft are in the collections of major museums including the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum, the Art Institute of Chicago and the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC. He currently resides in Jeffersonville with his wife and fellow artist Elizabeth Harms.

Free and open to the public, the exhibit is sponsored by the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance, the Arts Council for Sullivan County, NY, and is made possible in part by a grant from the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.

Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visit www.ArtsAllianceSite.org or call 845/252-7576.
