‘With Love from Shakespeare’s Women’ to raise funds for DVAA

NARROWSBURG, NY — Act Underground will present “With Love from Shakespeare’s Women” as the first of a series of Arts Alive/Savor the Arts fundraisers this spring benefiting Delaware Valley Arts Alliance (DVAA).

Conceived and developed by four actors and guest director Wendy Kaufman, “With Love from Shakespeare’s Women” is a series of monologues highlighting The Bard’s unforgettable female characters: Lady Macbeth (“Macbeth”), Portia (“The Merchant of Venice”), Mistress Page (“The Merry Wives of Windsor”), Titania (“A Midsummer’s Nights Dream”), Gertrude (“Hamlet”), Lady Percy (“Henry IV” Part Two) and Prospera (“The Tempest”), played by Beverly Dally, Dorothy Hartz, Aleta Kahnn and Penelope Lohr.

Performances will be held in the Gloria Krause Recital Hall, outfitted as a black box theatre, at the Delaware Arts Center, 37 Main Street, on Saturday, March 24 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, March 25 at 3 p.m.
