MILFORD, PA — On Sunday January 29, at 3 p.m., the Pike County Historical Society (PCHS), 608 Broad St., will present a look into the world of Leland Faulkner. Recipient of Kennedy Center accolades for directing “Shadowplay,” and multiple awards for his original films, Leland also consulted on the popular film “The Polar Express.” Faulkner will perform some of his illusions and show his Big Apple Award-winning short film, “The King O’ Cats” in the society’s Foundation Room.

“The King O’ Cats” is based on an old English folktale. It is the tale of a church sexton who sets out to finish a fresh grave in the church cemetery. When he falls asleep, he is woken up by a cat’s meow. He discovers a funeral is underway, and it is made up of mysterious looking cats, the largest of which gives him a message to deliver to “Tom Tildrum.” The film won four internationally recognized Accolade Awards, Best Children’s film at the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival, and the Maine Short Film Competition.

Tickets cost $15 and can be purchased at 570/296-8126. Visit www.pikecountyhistoricalsociety.org.
