MONTICELLO, NY — The Sullivan County Community Chorus will present its 35th annual winter concert, “The Scenes, Scents, Sights and Sounds of Winter,” on Sunday, December 11 at 2 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 6317 Route 42. The chorus, under the direction of conductor Kevin Giroux, with chamber orchestra and accompanists Lucille Horton and Keira Weyant, will present a program featuring works by George Handel, Antonio Vivaldi, Charles Gounod, Gustav Holst, John Rutter and more. Chorus soloists featured in the concert will be Charlie Barbuti, Adam Barley, Rachel Kleinman, Bill Magargal, Russel Scheier, Mary Setren, Brenton Smith, Lisa Topolovec and Ruthmary Weinger.
The Sullivan County Community Chorus consists of members from Sullivan, Orange and Ulster counties, whose ages range from 16 to over 80. Performances of the Sullivan County Community Chorus are made possible in part with funds from the Sullivan County Decentralization Program, a re-grant program of the New York State Council on the Arts, administered by the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance.
Admission costs $15 for adults, $12 for seniors, and is free for students. There will be a reception following the concert. Call 845/794-7869.
