HONESDALE, PA — Honesdale will roll out the pumpkins, hay bales, cornstalks and scarecrows for its annual “Harvest & Heritage Days” on Saturday, October 8, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday, October 9, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Craft vendors will dot Main Street on both days, and merchants have created scarecrows that can be visited all around town. Old-fashioned hay rides will be offered for a small fee, from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, and from 12 noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Hay rides will depart from the corner of 7th and Main Streets and are sure to be fun for the whole family.

There will be music on both days, and a corn shucking contest from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday. Also on Saturday, there will be an antique car cruise in Honesdale’s Park and Shop Lot on Main Street from 5 to 9 p.m. The costumed pets of the Dessin Animal Shelter’s fifth annual “Pets on Parade” will step off to march down Main Street on Sunday at 2 p.m., with judging at 2:30 p.m. at the Fred Miller Pavilion. Call 570/253-5492.
