YOUNGSVILLE, NY — The Cutting Garden will present its sixth annual festival celebrating anything and everything that is grown, created and produced in Sullivan County on Saturday, August 6 from 12 noon to 4 p.m. The Cutting Garden will have the Habitat for Humanity Quilt on display throughout the festival. Raffle tickets are available, with proceeds going to support their new project, a certified “passive house” in South Fallsburg. Passive houses aim to reduce heating energy consumption by 90%. The queen-sized quilt was designed and created by quilt artist Sally Abrams and Lori Nixon. Katharina Lichtman’s series of art quilts featuring buildings will also be on exhibit.
The festival will also feature locally grown flowers, food and plants, pottery, jewelry and maple products. New this year will be Light Touch, lamps and shades made with vintage materials, and Eminence Road Farm Winery. Youngsville’s Ruth Huggler will be back to continue with her oral history project.
