LIBERTY, NY — The Liberty Free Theatre will launch a series of Rent Money Readings at the Beekman House Pavilion across from the Fat Lady Café in Kauneonga Lake on Thursday, July 7 at 7 p.m. The inaugural plays will be “In the Western Gardens,” by Stuart Spencer, with Thomas Bosket, Chet Carlin, James Sullivan and Karen Young; and the classic comedy, “The Love of Don Perlimplin,” by Federico Garcia Lorca, with James Heisel, Kathy McKenna and Dana Priebe.

The readings are fundraisers to help defray the rental cost of the Liberty Free Theatre’s home base in Liberty. The suggested donation is $15. On Saturday, July 9 at 7:30 p.m., the theatre will present “An Evening of Poetry and Jazz” at the Liberty theatre, free to the public. Featured artists are vocalist Sharon Paige, poet Tom Lisenbee and guitarist Ethan Mann. Call 845/292-3788.
