BETHEL, NY — The Town of Bethel’s annual Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration will take place on Sunday, July 3 at dusk on Kauneonga Lake.

LIBERTY, NY — There will be a street fair in Liberty on Monday, July 4. Performances on the Main Stage will begin at 11 a.m. Paulina will hold an art-picnic on the lawn in front of the Main Stage from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., where people of all ages can come and sketch while listening to music. A classic car, motorcycle and tractor show, sponsored by Immaculate Concepts, begins at 10:30 a.m. (call 845/295-0300). A parade steps off at 12:05 p.m., followed by the dedication of the Liberty Police Department flag pole in front of the police department entrance. This year will also mark the first annual hot dog eating contest, sponsored by Garry’s Great American. Call 845/292 9797.

MONTICELLO, NY — The Monticello Raceway on Route 17B will hold its annual fireworks display on Saturday, July 2 after the racing program that night. Post time will be 7:30 p.m., and will feature the $175,000 New York Sires Stakes for two-year old trotting colts and geldings. There is free admission to the entire facility.

NARROWSBURG, NY — The Narrowsburg Chamber of Commerce and Gemini International will hold a three-day event starting with an old-fashioned family fair on Friday, July 1 with professionals providing a midway and prizes. A beer tent will be available. Saturday, July 2 there will be a sock hop in the Narrowsburg School with entertainment provided by The Shirelles. At dusk on Sunday, July 3, there will be fireworks. On Monday, July 4 the Narrowsburg Fire Dept will step off its parade at 3 p.m., followed by a chicken barbeque at 4:30 p.m.

ROSCOE, NY — Roscoe, recently dubbed The Ultimate Fishing Town — USA, will celebrate its new title and Independence Day at the same time. They will hold an Independence Day Parade on Saturday, July 2 starting at 11 a.m., with lineup starting at 10 a.m. at the Roscoe Central School parking lot. Local dignitaries and vendors are expected to be present, and Thunder 102.1 will broadcast live from the parade location.

HONESDALE, PA — Honesdale’s 2011 Fireworks Celebration will take place on Sunday, July 3, with a rain date of Wednesday, July 6 at dusk. The Independence Day celebration will start in Central Park 4 p.m. with vendors offering a variety of foods and novelties, free old-fashioned games and prizes for the kids, entertainers and music by Doug Smith’s Dixieland All-Stars ( 5 p.m.) Fiddlin’ Around with Steve Jacoby ( 6:30 p.m. ) and the Crystal band of Scranton (8 p.m.) The rain date will be Wednesday, July 6, when all events will begin at 5 p.m.

LAKE WALLENPAUPACK, PA — There will be an Independence Day fireworks display over Lake Wallenpaupack on Monday, July 4, with a rain date of July 9. Bold Gold Media’s Classic Hits 105.3 will broadcast patriotic music before, during, and after the event from the high school lot. The display is fired next to the Wallenpaupack Area High School, and will begin at approximately 9:15 p.m. Parking will be available in the high school parking lots, and the bleachers will be open to spectators at approximately p.m. Fireworks can be viewed from the dike and by boat from the lake as well. or call 570/226-3191.
