HONESDALE, PA — Honesdale’s Roots & Rhythm Music & Arts Festival will kick off on Friday, June 17 at 8 p.m. at Rusty Palmer’s, 1103 Texas Palmyra Highway. The festival itself will take place on Saturday, June 18, with Main Stage bands including Carrie Rodriguez, an accomplished singer-songwriter who consistently wows concert audiences with her fiddle, electric mandolin and tenor guitar skills; Dan Engvaldsen, a native Pennsylvanian who has played guitar since the age of eight; and Dave Alvin, a Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter and self-described “barroom guitarist” who is widely considered to be one of the founders of the current Americana music scene. There will also be a variety of free local musical talent around the Main Street and Central Park area throughout the day. Visit honesdalerootsandrhythm.com.
