CALLICOON, NY — St. James Episcopal Church will hold its annual spring fair on the Curtis family’s lawn, along Route 97 in Callicoon, on Saturday, May 28 and Sunday, May 29. The event is a combination yard sale, bake sale and book sale, and this year it will also include a Blessing of Animals on Saturday at 2 p.m., led by Mother Joan LaLiberte. Bring your pet, and head for the enclosed backyard for a blessing for dogs, cats, gerbils, ferrets and other creatures. LaLiberte admits to having once blessed a pet snake, but would prefer not to do so on this occasion.
All animals must be leashed or in a carrier. Owners or handlers are responsible for any pickup or cleanup needed.
The fair will run from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, and from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 29. Call 845/887-5454.
