BEACH LAKE, PA — The Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River has announced the winners of its second photography contest focused on the outstanding resources of the park and the connection between those resources and the public. Over 50 photographs were submitted between March 1 and August 25, 2016.
JEFFERSONVILLE, NY — Children’s Storytime starts up again at Western Sullivan Public Library (WSPL) beginning in January. It will be run by staff member Antonia Nemec, who is a local resident and an avid library user. The first five-week winter storytime session is scheduled for January 9 through February 11.
LIBERTY, NY — The fifth annual New Year’s Snowshoe at Walnut Mountain will be held on Sunday, January 1 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Participants choose the outing that fits their level: a relaxed hike along wide, graded carriage roads, or an intermediate hike that includes single-track mountain bike trails to the summit.

Crawford Public Library at 479 Broadway will host a Maker Space event on Thursday, December 29, from 2 to 4 p.m. A Maker Space is a DIY space where people can gather to create, invent and learn. SHOHOLA, PA — The Climate Collection Event, sponsored by the Barryville Area Arts Association, will be at the Artists’ Market Communmity Center, 114 Richardson Ave., during January. There will be a reception on January 7 from 4 to 6 p.m.
LORDS VALLEY, PA — Recently completed abstract paintings by Sunrise Lake resident Paul Rubino will be exhibited in The Gallery at Chant Realty in Lords Valley from January 1 through February 26. Weather permitting, a reception will be held on Saturday, January 7, from 5 to 7 p.m.
