BEACH LAKE, PA — Next year will be the 50th anniversary of the passage of the Wild & Scenic Rivers Act, honoring and preserving the nation’s free-flowing rivers.  The Upper Delaware begins this celebration with the unveiling of the Upper Delaware Virtual Tour and the National Park Service’s (NPS) online museum.

The tour explores the resources of the park through five interactive modules covering History and Culture, River Access Points, Wildlife & Ecology, Hiking Trails, and River Recreation. The Virtual Tour was designed by Eric Rowe and Jordan Lewis of Quiet Life Films.

The NPS provides stewardship for over 175 million objects and archives, but less than 1% of those collections are on exhibit for the American people to see. At Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River only 227 of the over 150,000 objects and archives in the park museum collection are on exhibit at the Zane Grey Museum. Through an innovative online tool, the NPS Web Catalog, the public may now access over 200 of the park’s museum objects and archives.

To access the virtual tourvisit www.nps.gov/upde, and to explore the NPS online museum visit https://museum.nps.gov and select Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River from the list of parks. For more information about either site, call 570/685-4871 and press 2.
