LORDS VALLEY, PA — Recently completed abstract paintings by Sunrise Lake resident Paul Rubino will be exhibited in The Gallery at Chant Realty in Lords Valley from January 1 through February 26. Weather permitting, a reception will be held on Saturday, January 7, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Born in New York City in 1951 and raised in Queens, Rubino was an enthusiastic creator of paintings and drawings from an early age, greatly influenced by the sights and sounds of the city. He was educated at the High School of Art and Design and the School of Visual Arts in New York City, and he subsequently embarked on a career as a freelance graphic designer, all the while developing his personal vision and understanding of abstract art technique. His work has been shown in galleries around NYC, as well as in upstate New York and, most recently, in Pike County. A video catalogue of his artwork from 1970 through 2010 can be found at www.artofpaulrubino.com.
The Chant Realty gallery is the brainchild of associate broker George Schmitt, an art lover, and is curated by artist Joan Polishook of Hemlock Farms. Chant Realty is located at 631 Rte. 739, just south of I-84 exit 34; it is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
