Pints for Polio Jenga

HONESDALE, PA — If you’re swift at removing a block from a Giant Jenga and placing it on top without toppling the tower, you won’t want to miss Honesdale Rotary’s Pints for Polio on March 22 at Irving Cliff Brewery. The evening’s entertainment, emceed by Bold Gold’s Adam Owens, will include Giant Jenga, ping pong, darts and more. The word jenga is derived from the Swahili word for “to build,” and your participation will help to build a new world: one without polio.

“Since the early 1980s, Rotary International and its partners have immunized more than 2.5 billion children and reduced polio cases by 99.9%,” says Stephen Moulton, president of Honesdale Rotary. “It costs only about 60 cents to protect a child for life from this crippling disease. Every little bit counts.”

This will be the third Pints for Polio hosted by the Honesdale Rotary, a service club of about 40 members who raise funds for both local and international projects. Rotary International’s partners in the global eradication project (www.endpo lio.org) include the World Health Organization and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation,

Admission costs $5. Beer and food cost extra. The festivities start at 5 p.m. and end at 7:30 p.m.
