Ivy Vine Players puppet program

In celebration of Children’s Book Week the Port Jervis Free Library presents “The Ivy Vine Players” at 1pm. Using dozens of her handmade puppets, the one-woman show known as The Ivy Vine Players Puppet Theater presents an interactive, musical program for all. Free program for all ages. Arrests in Parksville storage facility burglary

On April 23, 2014 State Police at Liberty responded to a report of a storage unit being broken into at the American Storage facility located on Service Rd in Parksville. Guns and approximately $13,000 cash were reported stolen during the burglary. An investigation led to the arrest of Clifford Gildersleeve, age 51 of Liberty, NY and Zachary Scott, age 66 of Harris, NY.  Read more

Man arrested for sex with nine-year-old

On April 24, 2014, the Orange County Child Abuse Unit, which is comprised of members from the New York State Police, Orange County Sheriff's Office, Town of Warwick Police and Village of Goshen Police, arrested a 47 year old man for the felony of Course of Sexual Conduct 1st and the misdemeanor of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.  Read more

Spring clean-up opportunity

Volunteers will gather at the Wayne County Historical Society’s Lock 31 House on Route 6 to clean up a section of the former Delaware and Hudson Canal, 9am. Bring rakes, mowers, weed whackers and pruners, etc. At 12 noon there will be a barbecue and potluck lunch. Email info@lackawaxenriver.org.
