Small art, big show

NARROWSBURG, NY — Many people turned out for the opening reception of “Art in Sixes,” the new exhibit at the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance in Narrowsburg. The show features 301 works of art that are no larger than six inches in any direction (not including frames). The artworks are created by 113 local artists. The pieces range from watercolor to photography to three-dimensional. The exhibit will be on display until December 22 and all works of art are for sale.

Reggae night at The Nutshell

LAKE HUNTINGTON, NY — The Bethel Reggae Consortium will present “Strictly Rockers,” old school reggae, on Saturday, November 30 at 9 p.m. at The Nutshell. The concert will feature dub, rocksteady, lovers rock, rockers and dancehall, featuring Selector Starkey from WJFF’s “Old Skool Sessions,” Mista Rhee, DJ Josey Wales and Brother O. Festive ballet performance

MILFORD, PA — The Delaware Valley Dance Company will perform “The Nutcracker” at the Delaware Valley High School on Route 6 in Milford on Saturday, November 30 at 12 noon and 7 p.m. Tickets in advance cost $12 and $8 for children and seniors. The Nat Osborn Band plays Harmony Presents

HALWEY, PA — Dave Matthews Band opener and funk and soul band the Nat Osborn Band will play Harmony Presents on Saturday, November 30 at 7:30 p.m. After wowing the New York music scene and a several month-long tour in Europe, The Nat Osborn Band will visit Northeast Pennsylvania to stir up grooves.

‘Honesdale for the holidays’

HONESDALE, PA — Historic Honesdale offers up holiday hospitality during its annual “Honesdale for the Holidays” event on Friday and Saturday, November 29 and 30. Gift shops, stores and businesses, the Wayne County Historical Society Museum and more will host open houses. “Use your head,” my mother used to warn. “You need to think about what you’re doing.” Regardless of Mom’s attempts to drill this into my thick skull, I’ve always been a little late to the party when it comes to planning and more often than not suffer the consequences. Orange County Child Abuse Unit rape arrest

The Orange County Child Abuse Unit, which is comprised of the New York State Police, Village of Goshen Police, Town of Warwick Police and Orange County Sheriff's Office, arrested KEVIN R. DAVIS, age 35, of Newburgh, NY, for Rape in the First Degree (B felony), Endangering the Welfare of a Child (A misdemeanor) and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana (violation).  Read more
