Monticello man sentenced for shooting another man in face

District Attorney Jim Farrell announced today that Franklin Brinson, aka “Ace-Loc”, 21, of Monticello, NY was sentenced in Sullivan County Court to 13 years in state prison and 5 years of post release supervision for shooting another man in the face on November 12, 2012, on Forestburgh Road in Monticello.  Read more

Shutdown impacts region; federal employees, others feel the pain

It is not business as usual in the Upper Delaware Valley as impacts from the shutdown of the federal government are felt. Active employees of the National Park Service (NPS) unit that serves the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River have been cut back to just five who will patrol the river and perform other limited services while politicians in Washington DC try to figure out a way to get the full federal government going again.  Read more

Monticello man arrested after stolen mortorcycle chase

Monticello Police arrested Abeaseah Dossen (32) of Monticello on Saturday 9/28/13. At 1:20 PM Saturday Monticello Police officer Scott Galligan was on patrol when he observed Dossen operating a 2004 Honda motorcycle between 60-70 MPH in a westerly direction on Broadway in the village of Monticello. The posted speed limit is 30 MPH in the village of Monticello.  Read more
