A voice against proposition one

Ramsay Adams knows that a lot of important people in Sullivan County and beyond are in favor of gaming. They want people to vote “yes” on Proposition One in November and change the state constitution to allow up to seven casinos in the state. But Adams’ reluctant position is to oppose the proposition, because he believes casinos in Sullivan County will bring more harm than good.  Read more

Book Drive for America Recycles Day

November 15, 2013

Come celebrate America Recycles Day with PPL Wallenpaupack Environmental Learning Center. Bring your novels, field guides and children’s books with you for the Drop or Swap, 10am-6pm for drop-offs and book swapping. Books left over will be reused by local libraries and organizations or recycled at the Wayne County Recycling Center.

Liberty man arrested for failing to register as sex offender

The Village of Liberty Police Department arrested Jason Nembhard, 27 of Liberty after an investigation into his failure to register his address as a sex offender. Police found Nembhard sleeping in an apartment on Orchard Street in Liberty on 10/19/13.  Read more

Liberty town board accepts preliminary budget, sets public hearing

At their regularly scheduled monthly meeting on October 21, the Liberty Town Board accepted the preliminary budget for 2014 as presented to them by budgeting and accounting coordinator Cheryl Gerow.

A public hearing for the preliminary budget is scheduled for Monday, October 28 at 5:30 p.m. at the Town Hall, 120 North Main Street in Liberty.  Read more
