LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY — The Catskill Art Society will present a book reading “When You Live by a River,” a novel by local author Mermer Blakeslee, at the CAS Arts Center on Saturday, August 3 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. There is a suggested donation of $5 per person.
The book is the fictional story of a Catskill Mountains valley community soon to be flooded to create a reservoir for New York City. HONESDALE, PA — On Saturday, August 3 Wayne County’s Old Stone Jail will be open to the public for tours from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is free to get in (but donations are always appreciated) and the docents promise to leave the door open so everyone can get back out again.
