Scholarship brunch

The Sullivan County Human Rights Commission sponsors the first annual “Eileen Haworth Weil” scholarship brunch at The Eagle’s Nest, 11am-2pm. Ellenville NAACP President, Maude Bruce, will be the keynote speaker. Tickets: $40. Scholarship funds raised will aid Sullivan County Community College students going on to a four-year degree. UDC opposes PA DEP policy proposal

The Upper Delaware Council, Inc. (UDC) unanimously approved a letter to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PA DEP) on May 2 expressing its opposition to the Sewage Facilities Planning Module Review for On-lot Sewage Systems Proposed in High Quality and Exceptional Value Watersheds.  Read more

On Wednesday May 1, 2013, at about 10:30 AM, the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office was called to WalMart in Monticello for a report of a theft of a 55 inch flat screen TV.  Read more

Livingston Manor flood study to be aired at meeting

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the New York Department of Environmental Conservation (NYDEC), the Town of Rockland, and Sullivan County will hold a public meeting to discuss the results of a major study on flooding and ecosystem restoration in Livingston Manor. The meeting will take place on Thursday, May 9, from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., at the Livingston Manor Firehouse.  Read more
