Open Electric Jam at The Cooperage

HONESDALE, PA — The first Open Electric Jam of 2013 will be held at The Cooperage on Wednesday, April 10 from 7 to 10 p.m. This electric jam is hosted by Tom Seig. Bring your instruments and your voices. Come early to sign up, as the board fills up quickly. BYOB. Snacks will be available for purchase. Roscoe’s annual Two Headed Trout Dinner

ROSCOE, NY — The Two Headed Trout Dinner will be held at the Rockland House on Saturday, April 6 at 6 p.m. The Chamber’s biggest fundraiser of the year includes a six-course meal that also has door prizes, raffles and silent auctions. Music series presents violin and piano duo

BETHEL, NY — “Sundays With Friends” begins with a performance by Jennifer Koh on violin and Benjamin Hochman on piano on Sunday, April 7 at 3 p.m. in the Event Gallery at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts. Admission includes post-concert “Meet the Musicians.”

Sundays with Friends, the Bethel Woods Chamber Music Series, is spearheaded by Zarin Mehta. It features five recital and small ensemble performances presented by curator Eileen Moon, associate principal cello of the New York Philharmonic.

LibertoTrio at The Cooperage

HONESDALE, PA — On Saturday, April 6 at 7 p.m., The Cooperage Project will present an evening of jazz with the LibertoTrio at The Cooperage. This quartet features Ralph Liberto on saxophone, Steve Faubel on piano, Bob Wilson on bass and Steve Kurilla on drums.

Bringing together the collective musical experiences of its members, the group creates a sound rooted in the jazz tradition while branching out and exploring new, uncharted territories. It draws inspiration from jazz greats such as Duke Ellington, John Coltrane, A.C. Jobim, Sonny Rollins and Thelonious Monk.  Read more

‘Iron Maidens’ come to Honesdale

STARLIGHT, PA — Linda Lovstad and her French horn have traveled the world together, performing in symphony and opera orchestras, bands, wind and brass quartets and even Broadway pit ensembles. Now, as one of the “Iron Maidens,” the female French horn players of Pennsylvania’s Northern Tier Symphony Orchestra (NTSO), she will perform this Saturday, April 6 at the Honesdale High School auditorium, not so far from her weekend and future retirement home in Starlight in northern Wayne County.  Read more

Cristine E. Bergman of Galilee, PA died at home Saturday March 30, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. She was 51.
