MILFORD, PA — In honor of America’s veterans, Milford Theatre at 114 E. Catharine Street will show, free of charge, “Doughboy the Movie” on Veterans Day, Sunday, November 11 at 2 p.m. The film is a family drama about an apathetic 16-year-old—played by newcomer Barrett Carnahan—who moves to a small town in West Virginia from New York City. After being accused of vandalizing the town’s statue of a World War I doughboy, he is assigned to perform community service at a local veteran’s home where he meets people who challenge his self-centered ways.

JEFFERSONVILLE, NY — The Janice Center will showcase the talents of pianist Noah Barker at a jazz and contemporary music recital on Saturday, November 10 at 7 p.m. A suggested donation of $10 will benefit the Jeffersonville Food Pantry. Barker is a former student of Janice Center owner and instructor Tanya Cohen. After graduating Sullivan West, he went on to major in music at the University of Louisville. He is now a professional musician in New York City. Special guest Thurman Barker, Jeffersonville’s own renowned percussionist, will also perform.
LACKAWAXEN, PA — The Lackawaxen Township Ambulance Service is holding their 2nd Annual Wine Tasting event on Saturday, November 10 at 7 p.m. in the Summit Restaurant at Masthope Mountain.
Last year’s sommelier Rory O’Fee, director of marketing at Woodloch Resort, has volunteered again. Joe Gattuso, the new bar and restaurant manager at the Summit Restaurant, is excited to partake in this fundraising event to support the local EMS. HONESDALE, PA — On November 10 at 7:30 p.m. there will be a contra dance at The Cooperage, 1030 Main Street. Contra dancing is a style of partnered folk dancing found around the world but particularly popular in the U.S. A live band will play traditional songs, while a live caller will lead participants through various dances. WOODBOURNE, NY — The 14th annual Veteran’s Day parade will be held on Saturday, November 10 at 1 p.m. on Rt. 42/52 (Main Street). A service will follow at the Woodbourne Firehouse.
The parade marshal is Clark Brown, Chief Warrant Officer 4 (retired) of the U.S Army and recipient of the Legion Merit Award. The guest of honor is Sgt. Matthew Robinson, U.S. Army (investigator).
