Grants available for value-added ag projects

Wayne County extends voter registration hours; new program announced for photo ID

The county commissioners on the Board of Elections approved a suggestion from Cindy Furman, Director of the Wayne County Department of Elections, to extend the hours of registration for the week of October 1 to October 6 in preparation for the presidential elections on November 6. The 4:30 p.m. closing will be extended to 5:30 p.m. and the office will be open on Saturday, October 6 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.  Read more

St. Baldrick’s Foundation Human Line of Hope

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and Eldred resident Lou Monteleone wants to make sure Sullivan County knows it. Monteleone’s awareness began in 2007 when he participated in a St. Baldrick’s (www.stbaldricks.org) signature head shaving event in Jeffersonville. “It changed my life,” Monteleone said, “and I became instantly involved.”  Read more
