HONESDALE, PA — There will be a Contra Dance at The Cooperage, 1030 Main St., on Saturday, August 25 at 7:30 p.m. Contra dancing is a style of partnered folk dancing found around the world but particularly popular in the United States. A live band will play traditional jigs and reels, while a live caller will lead participants through various traditional dances.

TUSTEN, NY — The National Park Service will celebrate its 96th birthday on August 25. It invites the public to celebrate by joining the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River Park Rangers for a guided hike of the Tusten Mountain Trail on Saturday, August 25 at 10:30 a.m. This free hike will meet at the Tusten Mountain trailhead, located at the Ten Mile River Access on Crawford Rd. MILFORD, PA – There will be a one-hour architecture tour at Grey Towers National Historic Site on Sunday, August 26 at 1 p.m.
The tour will focus on the unique architectural details of the mansion, built by James Pinchot in 1886. The French-chateauesque stone mansion features more than 40 rooms and three distinctive turrets, or towers, like the Northeast Tower shown here, and served as the home of Gov. Gifford Pinchot. Participants will learn about many of the distinctive features of the mansion, including what the Milford estate and the iconic Statue of Liberty have in common. Read more
Timothy Quick Darder, age 49, of Port Jervis, NY passed away Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Port Jervis.
He was born on January 12, 1963 in Port Jervis, the son of Everitt Quick and the late Donna Milk Quick.
Tim was a self-employed cabinet maker. After the passing of his mother in 1964, he went to live with his aunt and uncle, Ronald and Marian Darder, who adopted him, in Goulds, NY. Read more
