Literary Gazette 2012

Published annually, the Literary Gazette is a unique niche product showcasing the region’s rich literary flair. Each issue centers around a certain theme, and poems, stories and essays by area writers explore that theme. Past themes have included “A Sense of Place,” “Compassion,” “Nature,” “Bridges,” “Roots” and (for the upcoming issue) “Dreams.” Each Literary Gazette also features the work of an accomplished area photographer, whose pictures provide images related to the theme, serving as emphasis and counterpoint to the poems and stories.  Read more

Town of Delaware meeting to be aired July 30

HORTONVILLE, NY - A video of the Town of Delaware meeting that took place on Wednesday, July 18 will be broadcast on Monday, July 30 on Channel 23 at 8 p.m.. It will be aired every Monday night at until it is replaced by the video of the next meeting, which will take place on August 15.

Act 13 declared unconstitutional on four counts

HARRISBURG, PA — A Pennsylvania court has sustained four counts in the suit against the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania challenging the constitutionality of Act 13, a law that would supersede local municipalities’ abilities to zone oil and gas drilling operations, among other provisions.

Petitioners have been granted summary relief on Counts I, II, III and VIII of their suit.These court actions have the effect of invalidating the portions of the law pertaining to statewide zoning standards.

The Commonwealth’s objections to the other counts have been sustained.  Read more
