Rock Hill antique car show

ROCK HILL, NY — Antique and classic car owners from all over the region will gather at the Rock Hill Firehouse on Sunday June 3, to show off their cars, trucks, motorcycles and tractors at the Catskill Region Antique Automobile Club’s annual car show. This show is the longest running and largest car show in Sullivan County.

In addition to the cars, there will be food from the Rock Hill firefighters, merchandise at the flea market and DJ Eric Bressi’s Elvis show. The gates will open at 9 a.m.

A theatrical double-header in Hancock

HANCOCK, NY — The Little Victory Players at The Capitol Theatre in Hancock will present the New Reality Players in a double header: “Sorry Wrong Number” by Lucille Fletcher, directed by Foster Daniel Jr., and “A Hot Bowl of Chili.” The plays will be presented on Friday, June 1 and Saturday, June 2 at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday, June 3 at 2 p.m.  Read more

CAS issues artists call

LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY — Catskill Art Society (CAS) will present its third annual Summer Members Show, an exhibition of work by CAS member artists appearing throughout the CAS Arts Center, 48 Main Street, Livingston Manor, from June 16 to July 15. All CAS member artists are invited to drop off up to two works for the Summer Members Show at the CAS Arts Center on Friday, June 1 from 3 to 6 p.m. and Saturday, June 2 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Read more

Ghost Detective takes an encore

PORT JERVIS, NY — The Hub @ The Port Jervis Free Library will host Michael Worden, The Ghost Detective from the Paranormal Police Headquarters (www.paranormalpolice.com), on Monday, June 11, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. It will be Worden’s second appearance at the Hub, following a sold-out first performance that left 20 people on the waiting list.

Worden offers a unique perspective as an investigator of both the living and the dead, as a police detective in Port Jervis with over 10 years of law enforcement experience. He has been actively investigating ghosts since 2000.  Read more

Forestburgh holds pre-season gala

FORESTBURGH, NY — “Proud of Our Home: Celebrating 175 Years of the Town of Forestburgh” will be the theme of the pre-season fund raiser for the Forestburgh Theatre Arts Center, to be held on Saturday, June 9 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. The evening will feature previews of the opening production of “Guys and Dolls,” as well as a few tidbits from the opening cabaret “Get Happy: The Music of Harold Arlen.”  Read more

‘Garden of Eden’ kicks off PaPA season

WHITE MILLS, PA — PaPA’s first exhibit for the season, “The Garden of Eden,” will have an opening reception on June 2 from 5 to 7 p.m. The arts and cultural center is housed in the century-old 33,000-square-foot historic Welwood Silk Mill building. The show will run through July 21.

Big D features watercolors by Harrow

STARLIGHT, PA — The Big D Arts and Crafts League will present an all-member show in the Inn at Starlight Lake for the month of June. The collection will include oils, watercolors and photography as well as featuring one of its members for the month.

June will feature Livingston Manor, NY watercolor artist Caroline Harrow. Her realistic barns and still life paintings bring back memories of a simpler life. Caroline is a signature member of the North East Watercolor Society and her paintings are in many corporate and private collections.  Read more

Sullivan Dairy Court crowned

SULLIVAN COUNTY, PA — The new Sullivan County Dairy Court was crowned on April 27. The 2012-13 court consists of four Dairy Ambassadors: Adeline Bodnaruik, Brandi Burk, Cierra Roth and Amy Sykes; and two Milk Maids; Brittney Burk and Carrie Sykes. June is Dairy Month, and June 4 is National Frozen Yogurt Day. The new court offers the following cooling recipe.

(12 fluid ounce) can fat-free evaporated milk
