An enormous bank of book titles are now available as e-books at any of the Wayne County public libraries. Library patrons can now “borrow” the e-book for two weeks, after which the book disappears from your reader, although you can renew it for another two weeks. Read more
REGION — Yarnslingers is calling for storytellers for a session titled “Verbatim—Conversations we’ve either had or have overheard and where we were when we overheard them.” The word count is up to 750 words, and the place will be the Chestnut Café, Long Eddy, NY on Friday, April 20 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Stories are due by Saturday, April 14. ELDRED, NY — The Eldred Junior-Senior High School has announced that senior Vinny Carlucci has earned national recognition in the Digital Art category in The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards of 2012. Vinny has been identified by panels of professional artists as one of the most talented young artists in the nation. This year, 200,000 works of art and writing were submitted.
