Liberty senior arrested for multiple thefts

On Wednesday April 18, 2012 at approximately 8:00 AM, a concerned neighbor called the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office to report a suspicious person in the vicinity of 97 Huschke Road in the Town of Liberty. Patrols responded to the scene and located a subject who was in possession of a lawn mower.  Read more

Monticello man sentenced to 5 years in prison for buglary

District Attorney Jim Farrell announced today that Arthur Hoffman, age 21, of Monticello, N.Y., was sentenced to 5 years in prison with 5 years of post release supervision for Burglary in the 2nd Degree on April 17, 2012 in Sullivan County Court.  Read more

Kingston man arrested for sexual act with girl 14

The Ulster County Family Violence Unit announces the arrest of Thomas W. McDonough, age 36, of Kingston, NY, for the felony charges of Rape 2nd, Criminal Sexual Act 2nd and the misdemeanor of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
McDonough was arrested subsequent to an investigation into an allegation that he had sexual contact with a 14 year old female victim in the Town of Saugerties.  Read more

Liberty man arrested for stealing from Majek Funiture

he New York State Police at Ellenville announce the arrest of Michael T. Cook, age 23, of 85 Wawanda Ave., Liberty, NY, for the felony charge of Grand Larceny in the 4th Degree and the misdemeanor charge of Making a Punishable False Written Statement. Cook was arrested after an investigation into the theft of approximately $2,700 in US Currency from the Majek furniture store located in the Ellenville area, Town of Wawarsing, Ulster County, NY.  Read more

Smart phone stolen in Honesdale

The Honesdale Borough Police are investigating a theft of a Sprint Android phone from Turkey Hill. According to Police, the theft occurred on 4/22/12 at approx 8:40 p.m. The phone is black and silver in color. The phone has a flip up keyboard. The phone was stolen from the checkout counter inside the store.  Read more
