As incredible as it may sound, cases like that of Peter Kantorowski, 71, trying to force his mother, Mary, 98, from her Fairfield, CT home, are probably far more common than we realize. Enriching the economic gene pool
A seemingly unrelated constellation of issues led us recently to a meditation on the value of diversity in human as well as ecological systems. The first, discussed in TRR’s February 23 article on Dairy Day, was the problem that, though growing switch grass as an energy crop seems like a good money-making idea for local farmers, high-quality switch grass may prove difficult to grow here. SULLIVAN COUNTY, NY — With its magnificent architecture that hearkens back to its 1938 WPA construction, the Livingston Manor Central School (LMCS) is a sight to behold and the centerpiece of a proud community. Manor pride has been reinforced by the town’s renaissance and its annual Trout Parade. But over the past year, the school’s athletic ascendancy has given denizens even more to be proud of. Cochecton man charged in Smallwood burglary
The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office has made another arrest in its continuing investigation of wide spread burglaries within the county. On Monday night, February 27, 2011 at about 8:00 PM, an alert neighbor called 911 to report a suspicious gold color Ford Ranger pickup truck backed up to a residence at 26 Adirondack Trail in Smallwood. Kenoza Lake pleads guilty to burglary
Sullivan County District Attorney Jim Farrell announced today that Adam Mones, age 29, of Kenoza Lake, N.Y., pled guilty to Burglary in the 2nd Degree in Sullivan County Court. Farrell said Mones admitted to burglarizing a home in the Town of Delaware located on State Route 52 in the early morning hours of October 27, 2011. Read more
