Laura Jane Brown of Liberty, NY, a lifelong Sullivan County resident, passed away on Friday February 17, 2012 at Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris, NY. She was 69.
The daughter of the late Alfred and Mae Turk Ferguson, she was born on March 1, 1942 in Horton, NY. She was the widow of Robert William Brown, who died in 2004.

The daughter of the late Harry and Katharina Gunther Schilling, she was born February 8, 1949 in Valley Stream, NY.
Linda worked for 37 years as a reservation specialist for Villa Roma Resort, Callicoon, NY and was employee of the year some years back. Read more
On February 19, 2012, State Police in Wurtsboro arrested a man for DWAI Drugs following a traffic stop on Godfrey Road in the Town of Mamakating. Kevin Jewis, an 18 year old Bullville resident, was traveling on Godfey Road when he made an illegal U-Turn. Read more
Mr. Gerald Patrick Cooper of Glen Spey, NY, a lifetime resident of the area, died Friday, February 17, 2012 at Orange Regional Medical Center. He was 58.
He was born October 30, 1953 in Port Jervis, NY, the son of the late William and the late Catherine Hinkley Cooper.
A family statement reads in part: “Jerry was a committed father and friend, and an adoring grandfather and loving husband. He loved the NY Giants and enjoyed trips to the games. Jerry had an amazing spirit and outlook on life.” Read more
Katherine Moore of Glen Spey, NY died peacefully at home on January 31, 2012 in the company of her son Coyote and her husband Jose after a long and dignified struggle with breast cancer.

Russell U. Maerz of Richmond Hill, NY passed away on February 8, 2012. He was 87.
Russell was the longtime scout master of Boy Scouts of America Troops 4 and 28 in Richmond Hill. He also served as scout master during 35 summers at Ten Mile River Scout Camp in Narrowsburg, NY from 1964 to 1999. Boy Scout Troop 28 Fife and Drum Band marched in the Narrowsburg July 4th Parade under Russell’s direction for 20 consecutive years, from 1975 to 1995. Read more
