Get facts straight, Mr. Ferguson

According to your candidate’s statement aired on Thunder 102 radio, you claim the Town of Callicoon “wrongfully” refused $370,000 in funding for the photovoltaic project. In fact, $370,000 was the proposed cost that was unanimously rejected by the board at the bid opening. In fact, $225,000 was the amount available through NYSERDA ($125,000) and Assemblywoman Gunther ($100,000). The town requested if the grant could be used for more necessary projects such as repairing bridges, or improving Youngsville’s water treatment plant.  Read more

Howell for coroner

Edward Howell possesses the qualities and credentials necessary to ably handle the position of Wayne County Coroner. He is a licensed funeral director and bereavement counselor, holds a specialization certificate in child and adolescent grief counseling, and volunteers his time to co-facilitate a children’s bereavement group with Hospice of the Sacred Heart. His college B.S. degree is in Biopsychology (body and mind) from Messiah College, with an A.O.S. in Funeral Service and Mortuary Science from Simmons Institute. His job will be to provide deathcare, not healthcare.  Read more

Send Edwards to the county legislature

I'm a long-time resident of Swan Lake and an I.A.T.S.E. Local One Union member. I own a vacation rental business on Swan Lake. As a member of the Sullivan County Visitors Association, I'm glad to vote for Cora Edwards, who is a neighbor and a full-time resident of District 6. I encourage all voters who want a better county government to do the same. Edwards will grab a challenge with both hands. She is undaunted in the face of baseless criticism and will fight for what is right.  Read more

The letter impressed us with its open-mindedness, and the clarity of the presentation.  Read more

Speaking up for Lutfy

I'm a Democrat, but regardless of my political affiliation, I vote for a person based on what I think they can do for our community.

I placed a large sign of support in my front yard for Pam Lutfy, who has dedicated herself for many years to serving people of Pike County. What truly upsets me is that people my neighborhood are unable to put their party affiliation aside for the betterment of Pike County. They have criticized me for putting signs in my yard that represent the people whom I, as an American Citizen, have every right and the choice to support.  Read more
