Before I drove to Pittsburgh, PA to celebrate Thanksgiving with friends, I thought about all of the songs that have been written on the subject and selected my CDs for the ride with that in mind. Rotary helps local food pantries

PORT JERVIS, NY — Every year during the holiday season, the Port Jervis Rotary Club, along with many other community service groups, collects food donations for the local food pantries. The local church food pantries as well as Easter Seals Project Discovery need help to keep up with demand in this economy and appreciate any donation that you are able to make. Eldred trees an opportunity for giving

ELDRED, NY — The four corners in Eldred will be host to a miniature sized Santa’s village featuring Santa’s home, Santa’s toy workshop, Rudolph’s barn and visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Giving Tree at Peck’s

NARROWSBURG, NY — The Giving Tree project, a traditional Christmas effort of the Tusten Volunteer Ambulance Auxiliary, is now underway. A tree has been placed at Peck’s Market on Kirk Road bearing tags listing age and gender of a child in the area. Donors are asked to leave unwrapped gifts (maximum cost $10), along with the tag selected, at Peck’s Market before December 12. Volunteers will sort, wrap and arrange pickup of the gifts by Christmas.
