ROSCOE, NY — You can get your holiday shopping started at the scenic mountaintop location of Duke Pottery, at 855 County Rd. on the first two holiday weekends, Saturday and Sunday, November 26 and 27 and December 3 and 4. Hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on all days.
The event is an exhibit of 25 artisans including pottery, jewelry, paintings, silk scarves, furniture, lampshades, vintage clothes and linens, handbags, tutus and more, all for sale. ROSCOE, NY — Roscoe Central School PTA will hold its annual variety show, “With Holiday Flair,” on Friday, December 9 at 7 p.m. in the RCS Auditorium. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The cost for adults is $5, $4 for senior citizens and $3 for students. Children under four are admitted free.
MILFORD, PA — The Delaware Valley Choral Society and Symphony Orchestra will peform Handel’s Oratorio “Messiah” in concert at 4 p.m. on December 4 at Milford Bible Church, 110 Foxcroft Drive. EQUINUNK, PA — Thanksgiving Eve has been celebrated in worship for several years by member churches of the Northern Wayne Ministerium. On Wednesday, November 23 at 7 p.m., Equinunk United Methodist Church will host this year’s service. Because the early settlers were grateful for a good harvest back in 1620, they set aside a day for thanksgiving to God for his provision and bounty. The evening will feature prayer and preaching; music by the churches’ choirs; special children’s readings and Thanksgiving skits. There will be a time of fellowship immediately following worship. PORT JERVIS, NY — There will be an exhibit of works by Stephen Patrick O’Donnell Sr. on Sunday, December 4 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Port Java at 19 Front St.
O’Donnell was born in Port Jervis. His forefathers were Irish immigrants hailing from County Donegal, Ireland. Settling in Lackawaxen, PA, his ancestors worked on both the D&H Canal and the Erie Lackawanna railroad. Back in Ireland, The O’Donnell’s, or O’Domhnaill’s as they are known in Gaelic, are famous for being deeply involved in the 800-year struggle for Irish independence, giving the upcoming exhibit its name, “800 Years.” Read more
