Dark Forest Fear Festival in Glen Spey
GLEN SPEY, NY — Dark Forest Creations returns to Burn Brae Mansion to present Fear Festival, an all-new Haunted Walking Trail and Fright House on the 20-acre grounds behind the historic mansion. It will be open on Friday, October 21, Saturday, October 22, Friday, October 28 and Saturday, October 29. Tickets will be sold at the gate from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Each show costs $10, and discounted combo tickets are $17 for both shows. Read more
Collages and light at Domesticities
YOUNGSVILLE, NY — Domesticities will present “Dom/exia” with a Light Touch, an exhibition of collages by Claire Coleman and custom lamps by Kathie Fitzgerald beginning Saturday, October 22, with a reception at 2 p.m. at 4055 Rte. 52.
Claire Coleman’s collage series “Dom/exia” is domestic yet dreamlike, a little surreal with a sideways nod to Magritte. They are colorful, thought provoking and fun. Read more
‘Manescapes’ at the Alliance
NARROWSBURG, NY — “Manescapes,” an exhibit of photography by LaVerne Black, opens with a reception on Friday, October 21 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Alliance Gallery at the Delaware Arts Center. The exhibit will be on view through November 12. Read more

Graham to make appearance at ‘Fly Away Home’ showing
HONESDALE, PA — The movie actor Holter Graham is scheduled to make a guest appearance at the Wayne County Arts Alliance’s Saturday Morning for Kids on October 22 at Cinema 6, Route 6 Mall. The event will start at 9 a.m. with an hour of events for kids like face painting, balloon tying and drawing. At 10 a.m. there will be a showing of “Fly Away Home” (PG), a drama about a young Canadian girl who teaches a gaggle of pet geese to fly south for the winter. Graham played Barry Strickland, a friend of the girl’s father. Read more
Wigsticks returns to Milford Theatre
MILFORD, PA — The Upper Delaware GLBT Center will present Wigsticks, a Drag Show Extraordinaire, at the Historic Milford Theatre(114 E. Catherine Street) on Saturday, October 22 at 9 p.m., with a dance party to follow. All proceeds are to benefit the center’s work in providing support and empowerment to the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer (GLBTQ) community. Read more

Slow Food: One apple at a time
BEAVERBROOK, NY — Cold winds and cloudy skies did not deter several dozen people from visiting the home of Hans Kung in Beaverbrook on Sunday, October 16. Some loaded down with apples picked from their own properties, members of the Upper Delaware chapter of Slow Food and other food aficionados came to participate in the process of making homemade cider, and to bring home a few gallons of their own to enjoy.
