Honesdale officers Leuitenant Witt and Patrolman Swingle responded to Sonny’s Bar and Grill on Main Street on August 26. A male had entered the bar and grabbed three twelve packs of beer valued at $32.00 from the cooler and ran out of the bar without paying. Two patrons chased the thief and stopped him on 5th Street. Pennsylvania State Police Hazleton barracks notified the Honesdale Borough Police that on august 26 they arrested, 21 year old Stephanie Godin who had an outstanding warrant from this department. GOodinwas charged by Ptlm. Kominski in May 2011 with possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness. A Central Court date was scheduled, but GODIN failed to appear, so a bench warrant was issued by MDJ Mikulak. Read more

Sullivan County Manager David Fanslau announced that New York State Electric and Gas (NYSEG) will distribute another round dry ice and bottled water to their customers that remain out of power from the impacts associated with Hurricane Irene. The distribution points are as follows from 12:00 noon today while supplies last.
