Taking another look in Lumberland
Although the schoolyard taunts from Mr. Comstock and his gang definitely sting, the democratic process typically demands more moderate discourse and even dissent, which has been sorely missing from the Lumberland’s zoning rewrite process. This process can best be described as “all for one, and one for all,” for better and worse.

Wurtsboro Troopers arrest Monticello women following domestic incident
Wurtsboro Troopers arrested a Monticello woman following domestic incident. Linda Curless, a 39 year old resident of Monticello, was charged with Criminal Mischief 4th degree on July 30. Investigation revealed that Curless did damage a 1989 GMC truck during the domestic incident. Curless was transported to the Barracks in Wurtsboro, NY and processed. Curless was issued an appearance ticket to return to the Town of Thompson on August 8, 2011.

Snow goose on the loose
For the past several weeks, a lone snow goose has joined a local flock of Canada geese in the Town of Tusten, NY. While the flock initially resisted the presence of the intruder, the mostly white goose persisted and has successfully been integrated into the flock.
According to the property owner, the snow goose has not yet attempted to fly. “It is funny to see it join the pre-flight practice stampede with the adult geese flapping their wings at a pitch run towards the pond, and there in the middle are all the gosling geese and one adult snow goose running for all they are worth,” she said.
