DINGMANS FERRY, PA — The Pocono Environmental Education Center’s (PEEC) Harvest Festival will be held on Saturday, September 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will feature old-time activities and seasonal exhibits, including candle making, arts and crafts, and food preservation.
There will also be interpretive hikes, hands-on learning stations, conservation exhibits, live music, local food, beverages and a live animal presentation by the Pocono Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. Pre-registration is not required and the admission costs $5 per car. Visit www.peec.org.
LIBERTY, NY – The Liberty Jazz Festival will come to town this weekend, sponsored by the Greater Liberty Chamber of Commerce, the Town of Liberty Parks & Recreation Department, the Liberty Community Development Corporation, Gitlin & Associates, Jeff Bank, Thunder 102 and other community businesses. On September 2 at 7 p.m., the festival will feature “Friday Night Jazz,” with Galen Pittman on the piano, at the Liberty Museum & Arts Center at 46 South Main Street.

The Towpath Trail, which runs along the Delaware River underneath the Roebling Bridge in Minisink Ford is depicted at left, on August 25. The photo on the right was taken on August 29 at the same location following Hurricane Irene’s visit to the region. The National Park Service has been attempting to restore the walking path since 2009, but various flooding events such as this one have prevented the permanent re-opening of the trail.
The performance of the Dust Poets at Catskill Distilling has been canceled.
