March of the amphibians

The middle of summer is usually the dry time of year where watering is required to keep lawns and gardens in good condition. This August, however, we have had ample rain; enough to keep things somewhat moist. Rivers and streams are running a bit higher than normal too; it’s been nice to paddle the river without having to “ooch” over the shallower rapids and bars.  Read more

Local singer Verderame performs at CAS

LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY — Livingston Manor singer/songwriter Kimberly Verderame will perform at the Catskill Art Society (CAS) Arts Center at 48 Main Street on Saturday, August 27 at 1 p.m. Verderame is an 18-year-old solo artist who performs original songs, and is promoting her first album “On My Way.” The concert is free and open to the public. Admission is by suggested donation. All proceeds benefit the Catskill Art Society. Light refreshments will be served after the performance. The CAS Arts Center is fully wheelchair accessible. ‘Night of the Iguana’ benefit helps theatre in the schools

FORESTBURGH, NY — The Forestburgh Theatre Arts Center (FTAC) at The Forestburgh Playhouse will presents Tennessee Williams’ “The Night of the Iguana,” in a special benefit performance to support the FTAC’s theatre in the schools program, on Sunday, September 4 at 8 p.m. The play will be preceded by a gala pre-show cocktail/dinner at The Tavern.
