Pedestrain struck in Narrowsburg
A 70-year-old man from New Jersey was struck and seriously injured on July 3 in front of the Narrowsburg Inn on Bridge St. Trooper Timothy Ward of the New York State Police at Narrowsburg said the man, Warren Enker, was flown to West Chester Medical Center after being hit by a truck. Enker reportedly walked into the street from between parked cars. Read more

LAKE ARIEL, PA — PocoNotes will bring Northeastern Pennsylvania’s rockabilly band, RockABilly & the 45’s, to The Lodge at The Hideout on Saturday, July 9 at 8 p.m.
Rockabilly music has been described as a twangy fusion of country-western with rhythm and blues. It launched the legendary careers of Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash and Carl Perkins, whose Sun Records sessions in December 1956 earned them the nickname “million dollar quartet.” It is also the seed from which rock ‘n’ roll was created. “Fields and Streams,” the Wurtsboro Art Alliance’s (WAA) second invitational juried salon exhibition, will run from July 9 to August 7 at the WAA Gallery, with an opening reception on Saturday, July 9 from 2 to 6 p.m. It will coincide with the Wurtsboro Founders Day (see above). HONESDALE, PA — The Wayne County Historical Society’s major fundraiser for 2011, Food, Fun and Fiddlin’ Around, will be held at 6 p.m. on July 9 in the Parish Hall of Grace Episcopal Church.
Steve Jacobi and Fiddlin’ Around will provide the music for listening and dancing and chef Alan Kehoe has announced a menu of simple summer fare to fuel the dancing. So far, Kehoe is promising Texas smoked beef brisket, barbeque sauce, balsamic roast chicken, baked beans, macaroni and cheese and Caesar salad, topped off with brownies and vanilla ice cream.
