Phish chooses Catskill Mountainkeeper

Just about everyone in Sullivan County and the Upper Delaware Valley knows that the iconic jam band Phish is performing three shows over the Memorial Day Weekend at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts. But the new development is that while in the area, Phish has chosen to link up with Catskill Mountainkeeper to promote the work Mountainkeeper has been doing to protect the environment.  Read more

Honesdale fight brings cops

Honesdale Borough Police responded to a reported fight at 1037 Main Street, Apt. 4, nn 05-13-2011 at 2:23 a.m. The fight had spilled out onto the porch at the location, but was finished prior to police arrival. After an investigation, Honesdale Borough Police have filed charges against three persons involved in the fight early that morning.  Read more

Wurtsboro Driver arrested, impaired by drugs

On May 12, State Police stopped Jose L. Ibarrondo, 21, of Bloomingburg on Roosa Gap Road in the Town of Mamakating. Upon interviewing the driver, the Trooper smelled the odor of marihuana emanating from the vehicle. Upon further investigation, Ibarrondo was arrested for operating a Motor Vehicle While Impaired by Drugs and given appearance tickets for the Town of Mamakating Court.

Two New Jersey men injured in Wurtsboro NY plane crash

On May 20, 2011, the New York State Police at Wurtsboro, were dispatched to a plane crash at the Kohl’s Distribution Center parking lot, St. Rt. 209, Wurtsboro, in which the pilot and sole passenger were injured.  Read more

Youngsville man charged with DWI

On Sunday, May 22, troopers stopped a Honda Ridgeline on Burlingham Road in the town of Mamakakating. The operator, Ian M. Papkoff-Brooks, age 22 of Youngsville, NY was charged with Driving While Intoxicated. He was issued tickets returnable to the town of Mamakating court at a later date.
